Tattoos Machines

Do most tattoo machines have some sort of reservoir for ink? Or does the artist dip the needle into ink?

I have a few on my back so a friend was asking me general tattoo stuff, but since I'd never seen mine being done, i wasn't sure.

I seem to recall ink cups... so I'm guess they dip? or do they suck it up that tubey-bit around the needle?

The needles are held by a special tube that holds a little bit or reservoir of ink. The artists run the machine, allowing the needle to pull through vibration ink back up into the reservoir every so often. This reservoir will run out, and that's when they dip it into the ink caps

The needle is not hollow contrary to popular belief....they are usually grouped needles.

When they are switching colors, they will run the needle in distilled water to cleanse it, and then off to the next color
