Whats the difference in tattoo guns?
I'm looking to buy my own tattooing set, but i noticed some guns are called Shaders, and some are Liners. Im assuming it just means shaders are for actual shading and liners are for drawing the outlines, just as it sounds like, but i thought you only had to change the needle groupings to differentiate between the two effects. Are they set to different penetration depths or something?
Inkslinger nailed it!!!
First of all, you need an apprenticeship, as you clearly know nothing about tattooing and are planning on entering into a profession where you inject a foreign substance into human skin....This is extremely dangerous if you don't know what you're doing!
Secondly, you need to learn that it is referred to as a Tattoo Machine not a gun...not off to a very good start are we?!
Thirdly, you need to have talent, drive, perseverance, skill, knowledge of hygiene and safety and be in a professional, licensed studio to build your skills and reputation up in a safe environment under someone who knows what they're talking about!
This is not just a case where you buy a piece of crap off the internet and start drilling holes into people, this is a life-long career based around commitment, professionalism and skills!!
There are so many different liners, shaders, needle groups, inks, sterylisers, cleaning equipment, foot pedals and disposal units around, I couldn't shake a stick at half of them! Some equipment used is completely incorrect and most reputable Tattoo Supply companies will only supply to licensed artists operating out of a tattoo studio which has had all the relevant health and safety check and is registered by the government and recognised as a professional tattoo parlor!!
What you're doing is taking the "Lazy," route and not doing any research beforehand. Do you even draw?? You will need to have a very well-built portfolio and huge determination to do this job if you want to even get your foot through the door of any studio. Are you up to the challenge? Really??
Please do not become another "Scratcher," who permanently scars people. You want your clients to be happy with your work and return wanting more. You are representing yourself....You would operate a crane without knowledge of how to do so first, would you??!!
I hope you see sense
